After graduation Isabelle completed a rotating Internship at the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Berne (Switzerland). She followed her strong interest in anaesthesia, analgesia and intensive care medicine completing a residency of the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA) at the aforementioned institution and the Veterinary University Vienna (Austria). During this time she also completed her thesis and gained the Certification by the Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS). She worked as a clinical anaesthetist at the Clinic of Anaesthesia and perioperative Intensive Care in Vienna and obtained Diplomate status of the ECVAA. She has worked as a Senior Clinical Anaesthetist at Leahurst, School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Liverpool (UK) for three years. She established the chronic pain management clinic for small animals at Leahurst and completed further training in acupuncture. Since leaving Liverpool she has worked as a locum anaesthetist in a large referral practice (Willows Referrals, UK) as well as at the Atlantic Veterinary College (Canada) and worked at Veterinary Anaesthesia Services from 2011-2016. She is interested in anything related to veterinary anaesthesia but if forced to choose, her main areas of interest are clinical anaesthesia in small animals and management of acute and chronic pain.

Isabelle enjoys sharing her knowledge with anyone interested in anaesthesia and is regularly speaking at national and international conferences.

When not busy „keeping animals asleep“ she likes to play basketball, spending time with family and friends – preferably outdoors, including trying to educate her Cairn Terrier.
