VAS offers a mobile, specialist-led anaesthesia service for veterinary practices, ensuring the highest level of care in familiar environments. We also provide comprehensive veterinary consulting, from detailed analysis of anaesthetic protocols and case discussions to staff training through seminars and lectures. As active partners in the care of animals with acute and chronic pain, we are dedicated to advancing patient care and knowledge through our services.
In academic settings, we offer full anaesthesia support, team capacity building, and complete project consulting to ensure the success of research and educational initiatives.
History
VAS is founded by Dr. Peter Kronen and Prof. U. Schatzmann as a spin off of the University of Bern, Switzerland.
VAS establishes the Veterinary Anaesthesia School for Technicians and Nurses (VASTA), providing specialised training in anaesthesia and analgesia for veterinary technicians and veterinarians.
VASTA School launches its first courses in Switzerland expanding specialised training opportunities for German-speaking nurses and veterinarians.
VAS begins close collaboration with the Musculoskeletal Research Unit (MSRU) at the University of Zurich, launching the first dissertations, and initiates regular in-clinic anaesthesia services for veterinary practices in Luxembourg.
Launch of comprehensive chronic pain management services for small animals.
VASTA School expands to Russia. The courses have been discontinued since 2020.
As the demand for veterinary anaesthesia grows, VAS specialists are increasingly sought after in private clinics. Simultaneously, VAS expands into the Swiss veterinary equipment sector, rapidly becoming a leading provider of top-tier anaesthesia equipment in Switzerland.
VASTA courses expand course offering to Poland.
VASTA school offers courses in Romania and Bulgaria.
VASTA expands internationally, gaining worldwide recognition. Training is now offered in Switzerland also in French, further Poland, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, and soon in other continents.
