DVM, Dipl. ECVAA
Olivia d'Anselme, originally from Paris, France, is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA) since 2024. She graduated from the École Nationale Vétérinaire d'Alfort (ENVA) in France in 2018, where she obtained her veterinary degree, and has since pursued her love for veterinary anaesthesia across multiple continents.
Olivia began her career in 2017 with an internship at the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) in Argentina, focusing on anaesthesia and emergency care. She subsequently worked as an emergency veterinarian in France from 2017 to 2018 and completed internships in veterinary hospitals in Singapore and England from 2018 to 2020, where she gained extensive experience in small animal anaesthesia.
From 2020 to 2024, she completed a residency in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia at the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Zurich, Switzerland. During her residency, she fell in love with large animal anaesthesia. She pursued a large animal anaesthesia externship at the New Bolton Center, University of Pennsylvania, USA, in 2021, which further fueled her interest in this area. Olivia has since conducted research on developing new anaesthesia protocols for calves, enhancing locoregional techniques in cattle, and improving pain management. Her research aims to advance and refine these techniques to ensure better outcomes for farm animals.
Olivia's research contributions have been featured in scientific publications, and she actively attends international congresses, where she has had several opportunities to present her work. Her passion for continuous learning aligns with her love for teaching and training, including her dedication to veterinary pedagogy and training. She actively seeks opportunities to collaborate and exchange knowledge with other specialists, continuously striving to advance veterinary anaesthesia and pain management.
She has a passion for travelling, where she delights in discovering new cuisines and immersing herself in different cultures. Olivia enjoys meeting new people and building connections, often using her multilingual skills—fluent in Spanish, French, and English, and proficient in German—to create meaningful exchanges. Her love for exploring the world is deeply tied to her curiosity and drive to understand and learn from others.
