CPAP Helmet for Non-Invasive Ventilation

StarMed CaStar R – Helmet for Non-Invasive Ventilation

CPAP helmets are the latest innovation for a smoother recovery phase in dogs with airway obstruction issues (such as brachycephalic breeds or dogs with collapsing airways), helping to reduce complications.

The CaStar R is a comfortable, versatile, and lightweight patient interface for non-invasive ventilation, providing a true alternative to traditional NIV delivery methods. In veterinary medicine, human pediatric CPAP products are currently used, and various scientific studies have tested and confirmed their effectiveness.

The CaStar R is well-tolerated even over extended periods and helps minimize risks associated with endotracheal intubation and face mask use.

The CPAP helmet is available in different sizes, with S and XS being the most commonly used in veterinary applications.

Technical Features:

  • Comfortable, atraumatic fastening to the collar
  • Elastic membrane provides an airtight seal around the neck
  • Two airtight ports (3.5-7.0mm Ø) for probes or catheters
  • Patient access with screw cap; bidirectional emergency air valve automatically opens in case of pressure drop
