Michèle Sidler
PhD Student, Dr. med.vet.
Michele graduated in 2005 from the Vetsuisse Faculty in Zürich and gained her doctoral degree with a thesis in veterinary bacteriology.She joined VAS in 2008 as a veterinary anaesthetist performing anaesthesia for the Muskoloskeletal Research Unit in Zürich and the Biologisches Zentrallabor at the University Hospital in Zürich. Her special interests include anaesthesia in large animals (small ruminants and pigs) as well as musculosceletal and cardiovascular research. She also enjoys sharing her experience in anaesthesia of sheep , goats and pigs with other people helping to teach in different capacity building activities of VAS.
In September 2010 she was accepted at the graduate School of the University of Bern with a PhD project entitled: „Healing of cartilage lesions in sheep after microfracturing technique and transcutaneous application of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory or chondroprotective medication.“
Outside work she enjoys excursions with her Border Collie Yara and discovering new places and landscapes with her. Furthermore, she likes being together with friends and going out with them.
